Our pupils are encouraged from the very start of their life at Queen’s to give something back to society. This underpins everything we do as we believe that it is only through helping others that we can truly know ourselves. This focus also helps to promote confidence and a wider sense of community, justice and fair play.
In Key Stage 2 this takes the form of charity fundraising (often suggested by the children themselves), links with other schools abroad and activities such as beach cleans and carol singing at local care homes. Girls enjoy the sense of achievement that comes with reaching a fundraising goal, making a difference or simply making someone smile, and this, in turn, helps with their understanding of effort and reward.
We are very fortunate in having many members of staff who regularly undertake charity challenges, everything from walks around Anglesey to cross channel swimming, which inspires girls to get involved with their own efforts.
