Throughout its history, The Queen’s School has been lucky to receive generous support from its pupils and families both past and present. Indeed, the ongoing success of the school is testimony to this commitment of previous generations to future ones.
Today, whilst most of our income is generated from fees, the School also undertakes fundraising for important initiatives and projects that simply would not be possible without those who support us. This is complemented by fundraising initiatives and a variety of other sources to fund its expenses and capital improvements. Direct Grants, Assisted Places, fees and support from the Foundation Bursary Fund have only ever provided just enough income to cover the costs of education.
Major capital improvements and the purchase of land and buildings have therefore normally been funded by the generosity of benefactors. As such, we work closely with our strong community of parents, pupils, staff, Alumnae, and friends of The Queen’s School, past and present, to raise funds to improve our academic, co-curricular, and sporting provision.
Income, in the form of gifts, is essential to supplement fees so that The Queen’s School may continue to offer a first-class education, at a reasonable cost and retain its ability to offer, where needed, financial assistance with fees.
The Annual Fund supports the school’s annual budget. This fund provides direct assistance to all girls in the school by paying for projects that fall just outside our ability to pay for them from fee income.
Looking ahead, we need to upgrade some of our facilities and buildings, to ensure pupils current and future can benefit. To achieve this, we are looking for additional philanthropic support from alumni, friends, and family.
Making a gift to The Queen’s School through any of these funds is simple and can have tax benefits for you and your family. There are many ways that you can make a gift to the school: a one-off gift, regular giving, the gift of shares, leaving a legacy or giving online.
As we look to the future, we have many emerging projects and exciting developments, which will further enhance the life of the girls at The Queen’s School. We invite you to look through this section of our website to learn more and discover ways to support:
