We produce two school publications to showcase the outstanding work produced by our students.
Every summer we publish the latest edition of our Have Mynde Year Book, which is a historic publication for the school and captures an overview of the superb work girls have produced, as well as the variety of trips and opportunities they have experienced.
Lux is our biennial publication and is made up of a selection of academic work written by our Sixth Form girls covering a wide range of topics.
This diverse collection includes reports written as part of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) – a key part of our Sixth Form curriculum. The EPQ is an independent piece of academic research work, in three parts, comprising a research diary or production log, an academic report or artefact, and a presentation.
The qualification is highly regarded by universities and involves the student identifying, designing, planning and completing an individual project and applying a range of organisational skills and strategies to meet agreed objectives. The reports printed in this magazine demonstrate the girls’ ability to obtain, critically select and use information from a range of sources; to analyse data, apply it relevantly and demonstrate understanding of any appropriate linkages, connections and complexities of the topic.
