As a relatively small Sixth Form, we are able to get to know students well. Teachers have the flexibility to personalise learning, which means girls are taught in a way that benefits them the most and plays to their strengths and talents, while supporting them to tackle any challenges.
Our tutorial-style learning in Sixth Form is much like university itself, where topics are debated and discussed in small groups led by a teacher. Here students learn to listen and to present their ideas coherently.
Extra academic support is there in the form of lunchtime clubs and individual tutoring slots. Our teachers really do go above and beyond to ensure that students fully understand their subject and are well prepared for examinations. They are also well qualified to extend each girl’s studies as far beyond the curriculum as she could wish. Our academic results speak for themselves with Queen’s regularly topping local league tables and performing superbly against other prestigious schools nationally.
However, the most important thing to everyone at Queen’s is that our students are happy and confidently working in partnership with their teachers in order to achieve their specific goals.
Sixth Formers also have the chance to engage with our exciting Q-Elevate programme which runs alongside their academic study. Its four elements – Q-Global, Q-Lead, Q-Enrich and Q-Scholar – offer remarkable opportunities for pupils to forge a personalised and individual pathway that broadens their experiences and builds an impressive ‘life portfolio’. This can be used to support and strengthen both their university applications and career profiles for the future.
At Queen’s Sixth Form we make a difference, and our girls make excellent progress, leave us exceptionally well qualified, self-assured, articulate and ready to seize all that life has to offer.
I look forward to welcoming you.
