Mandarin Club

Our 2025 Mandarin Club for girls and boys in Year 5 starts on Tuesday 14 January 2025 and runs weekly during Queen's term-time until the end of the summer term.

At Queen's we are extremely proud of our Confucius Classroom status and are keen to ensure that local children are given the opportunity to learn the world’s most widely-spoken language with a weekly after-school club.

Girls and boys in Year 5 learn basic conversational Mandarin at our Senior School with our CLEC (Centre for Language Education and Cooperation) teacher. As experts, not only in language and culture, but traditional crafts such as origami, knot-making, wushu, abacus and fan dancing, the CLEC teacher has enabled us to promote Chinese language and culture within our own school and the local community.

Children will:

•    Meet our Chinese CLEC teacher

•    Benefit from the opportunities, resources and expertise that come from The Queen’s School’s Confucius Classroom status.

•    Activities focus on language learning and will cover many Chinese cultural topics, such as music, crafts, calligraphy, dance and festivals.

Registration is now open for the next course which will begin on Tuesday 14 January 2025. The weekly afterschool club runs from 4pm - 5pm during Queen's term time. Simply register below and we will be in touch nearer the time with more information.
