This week for Children in Need, Years 7-9 have been taking part in a sponsored rowathon. Each class have taken to the rowing machines in their best spotty attire to do their bit for charity (we even had a couple of Pudsey’s)!
Not only have the girls been rowing as far as they can for Children in Need, but Sandford, Thompson, Westminster and Hastings have been competing against each other to see who can row the furthest distance in a battle of the houses.
The girls have been asked to collect sponsors in aid to raise as much money as they can for the Children in Need Charity, which are being collected in on Monday 19th November. All sponsorship and distance totals will be announced in presentation assembly on Thursday 22nd November! Well done to all the girls involved for rising to the challenge! We are very proud of you!
Earlier this week aspiring dentists Emaan and Amelia in Year 13 led an assembly about raising mouth cancer awareness and as a result Friday was decided to be a blue themed own clothes day to raise money for the Mouth Cancer Action Appeal.
We are so grateful to our parents and pupils for their ongoing support of pupil charity events. So far this year the pupils at the senior school have already raised £476.56 for Macmillan Cancer Support, £772.65 for Meningitis Awareness, over £300 for Lumos (JK Rowling Foundation) and £150 for the Heart Foundation.
Our Lower School girls all looked fabulous wearing spotty fancy dress in support of Children in Need which raised more than £300.
