This week saw the opportunity to raise the Union Jack on the School’s flag poles as we recognise the work of our country’s royal family and celebrate the coronation of our King.
Timing couldn’t have been better with our own Service of Commemoration at Chester Cathedral, recognising the work of our benefactors and founders to establish the School and the continued work of all those who enable the School to thrive; pupils, parents, staff and governors.
Every pupil received and wore a commemorative lapel pin for the coronation donated by the QSPA and it was lovely to reflect on the amazing year.
Beautiful performances from our Chamber Choir, Queen’s Young Voices and the winner of our recent Festival of Music, Genevieve Li, were enjoyed by all, alongside poignant and entertaining speeches given by Queen's parent Sam Piddington, alumna and Fund Manager Fiona Hagdrup, and staff member Mrs Doheny, who is leaving Queen’s at the end of this academic year.
The Service concluded with our Year 13 students, The Queen's School of alumni of 2022, leading Year 3 pupils, who will be our alumni of 2032, out of the Nave.
