A Day of Triumph and Team Spirit at Queen's Senior School Sports Day

The spirit of camaraderie and healthy competition was on full display as our Senior School pupils from Years 7, 8, 9, 10, and 12 gathered at the Deeside Athletics Track in Connah's Quay for our highly anticipated Sports Day. The event was a resounding success, filled with enthusiasm and determination, and even the sun was shining!

The girls participated in a variety of track and field events, showcasing their athletic prowess and sportsmanship. The lineup included challenging races and hurdles, impressive long jumps, soaring high jumps, and the powerful throws of javelin, discus, and shot put. Each event brought out the best in our pupils, who gave their all, and most importantly had fun.

Our House system was at the heart of the day's events, with Westminster, Thompson, Sandford, and Hastings Houses vying for the top spot. The friendly rivalry among the Houses created an atmosphere of spirited encouragement and unwavering support. It was lovely to see girls from different year groups come together, cheer each other on, and celebrate each other's successes, truly embodying the strength and value of our House system at Queen's.

After a series of intense competitions, it was Thompson House that emerged victorious, proudly taking home the coveted title of overall winners. 

Events like Sports Day are a testament to the nurturing and inclusive environment at The Queen's School. They provide our girls with opportunities to challenge themselves, support each other, and try new things. We are incredibly proud of all the pupils, and our fabulous Year 12 helpers, for their dedication, sportsmanship, and the sense of community they showcased throughout the event.
