A surreal day for many Queen's girls and staff as we welcomed two England Hockey players into school to talk about their career and provide a coaching session.
Anna Toman and Sarah Haycroft, who played in the recent Commonwealth Games, met our Year 5 and 6 girls from the Lower School first before speaking to the whole of the Senior School in a special assembly.
The pair talked about their career paths, the highs and lows and the importance of perseverance and being the best you can be.
After the girls had asked a number of questions about Anna and Sarah's career paths and most memorable events, the sportswomen presented the recently won Chester and District Championship trophy to our U19 hockey squad who were crowed winners earlier this week.
A selected 20 U15/16 girls were then taken off for a bespoke coaching session with the England players. Despite the bad weather the girls soaked up the unique opportunity to learn from the best. A day we are sure they will all remember!
