Today saw the launch of our first official Forest Friday with our Reception Woodland Warriors enjoying an exceptional day of activities.
From helping to build our campfire to investigating insects under their pooter microscopes. From counting up bundles of sticks for bird swings to learning to tie knots with the help of friends. From eating their lunch alfresco to toasting marshmallows and indulging in s’mores.
Amongst all the fun, there was plenty of learning: managing risk, problem solving, collaborating with friends, using and applying maths, practising fine motor co-ordination … not to mention plenty of opportunities to be resilient and courageous!
All our Lower School girls will take part in Forest Friday this term, exploring our superb outdoor area and giving them access to natural experiences. These activities will help develop many skills that are hard to teach in the classroom.
A wonderful day with lovely memoriesv created!
