Local children are being encouraged to sign up for free Mandarin lessons at The Queen’s School in Chester.
As part of the schools outreach programme, a weekly Mandarin Club is on offer to boys and girls in Year 5 from any school to take part in.
The club starts on Tuesday 21 January so parents are being encouraged to sign their children up quickly to avoid disappointment.
The Mandarin club enables children from a wide range of backgrounds to enjoy the challenge of learning an exciting language. Activities include language learning, dance, music, crafts and learning about Chinese celebrations and culture.
The Queen’s School is a designated Confucius Classroom, a coveted accolade awarded in recognition of its excellent work in promoting the study of Mandarin.
Head of Mandarin at The Queen’s School Ms Lucy Whittam said: ‘We very much believe that learning a new language can, and should be fun. As one of the world’s most widely spoken languages, our Mandarin Club is a great opportunity for your child to try something new and is completely free as part of our commitment to limitless learning.’
