Year 3 were immersed in history on a trip to the Grosvenor Museum where they took part in a number of workshops that showed them what life was like for the Romans living in Chester.
They were archaeologists, spent time in a Roman kitchen, made mosaic designs and learnt about Roman buildings and everyday life for the soldiers and slaves.
After lunch, the girls all enrolled in the Roman army. They put on armour and carried shields, then headed to the amphitheatre under the leadership of an officer called Titus. Titus taught them some military manoeuvres and showed them how to work as a team. It was then time to go into battle against the Celts (the teachers). The Roman soldiers were so good at defending themselves whilst going on the attack, they won!
