Year 10 pupils welcomed representatives from the Youth Commission during PSHE taking part in a thought-provoking workshop on unhealthy relationships and offering their thoughts and ideas on how local police should be responding to this issue in our community.
Youth Commission Coordinator, Ali Roberts, and two young Youth Commission volunteers led the workshop that was designed to gather our students' thoughts on this issue. One volunteer, Imogen, is a member of our Sixth Form, and did a wonderful job supporting Ali in the workshop.
The Youth Commission enables young people to support, challenge and inform the work of the Police, the Crime Commissioner for Cheshire and Cheshire Constabulary. The 2017/18 Youth Commission Report that we contributed to last year was a great success, collecting the views of over 1,500 young people and delivering comprehensive recommendations to the Commissioner, senior constabulary officers and partners.
The Youth Commission will now consider our pupils' thoughts and ideas on how the Police and other local agencies can improve its response to young people who find themselves in unhealthy relationships or targets of exploitation within its report and recommendation for 2018.
