Year 4 had a fabulous time on a four-day residential trip to Kingswood in Colomendy, North Wales, learning through adventure and taking controlled risks in a safe environment. They immersed themselves in every activity and had the opportunity to try many new things and learn new skills.
At the start of the trip, everybody set their own personal goals and discussed their fears, whether that was a fear of heights, feeling anxious about being away from home, or being scared of the dark.
Working with others is a vital skill which helps us at school, in sport, and is essential throughout our lives. The class developed their friendships, independence, communication and resilience through a wide range of challenging activities, including caving, archery, shelter building, fire making, nightline, 3G swing, climbing, buggy building, frisbee golf, problem solving and much more! The 3G swing was a strong favourite, even though many thought it was also the most challenging activity!
The residential was a great success! The girls stepped outside of their comfort zones, faced their fears, and supported each other throughout the trip. Being in a new environment was inspiring and motivating, and best of all everyone felt they had achieved something they didn’t realise they were capable of!
