Despite a rainy start, the weather turned in our favour for a superb Lower School Sports Day. The entire Lower School community came together for a day filled with excitement, competition, and camaraderie.
The morning kicked off with our enthusiastic Infants taking centre stage. They competed in a variety of events, showcasing their budding athletic talents. Every girl gave her best in the obstacle race and sprint events with lots of cheering from their House supporters. The long jump and throwing events saw some impressive efforts, while the traditional egg and spoon race brought smiles and laughter all around.
As the afternoon sun shone brighter, our Juniors took to the field, continuing to compete for valuable House points across a range of disciplines including javelin, long jump, triple jump, rounders ball, sprints, hurdles, and obstacle races, with many personal bests achieved.
The support and enthusiasm was fantastic, with all the girls proudly waving the House banners they had created in the lead-up to the event. It was heartwarming to see the supportive atmosphere, as girls cheered for their friends and celebrated each other’s achievements.
A special congratulations to Zara, who was awarded the Year 6 Victrix Ludorum trophy for her outstanding performance and Sofia in Year 6 who was runner-up.
The competition was fierce, and the results were incredibly close. Griffin House emerged as the overall winners, clinching victory by just two points ahead of Dragons. The final standings were:
1. **Griffins** - 1st Place
2. **Dragons** - 2nd Place
3. **Phoenix** - 3rd Place
4. **Unicorns** - 4th Place
