Four of our Year 6 girls qualified for the UK National Finals of the Pangea Maths Competition after achieving over 90% in the first round online.
Pangea is a challenging maths competition for primary and secondary pupils and the final was held at Queen Mary’s University in London.
Owing to sporting commitments, Jessica and Alicia were unable to attend, so Alice and Izzy travelled with their parents to London to represent Queen’s.
Qualifying girls from Year 4 to 10 from all over the UK sat a challenging 30 minute test in one of the university’s lecture theatres.
The girls reported that the questions, which were based on UK curriculum content, were very challenging but great fun!
We are so proud of both girls but special congratulations to Alice who did brilliantly to win the bronze medal in the Year 6 category as well as a fabulous cash prize!
