The Queen's Community gathered in unity and celebration for the first time this academic year for our annual Prize Giving ceremony at the Senior School.
Alumna Janine Turner '75 delivered a captivating talk on inspiration, drawing upon her enduring passion for languages that had its roots right here at Queen's. Her remarkable journey was underlined by her prestigious recognition in 2017 when she was bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award for her exceptional contributions to the German language in Great Britain, an honor presented by the German Embassy.
Headmistress Mrs Sue Wallace-Woodroffe said: "This ceremony is a testament to the dedication and brilliance of our pupils, not only academically, but also for their contribution to the school community. Recognising and celebrating achievements isn't just about applauding success; it's about nurturing the seeds of inspiration and fostering a culture of continuous growth in our girls."
Following her inspirational speech, Mrs Turner had the privilege of presenting an array of well-earned accolades to pupils. These ranged from Subject and House Merit Awards, highlighting academic prowess and camaraderie, to bespoke awards for courage and determination, kindness and leadership.
In the afternoon, a more intimate Prize Giving session was held for our newest alumni, the 2023 leavers, as well as Year 12 students and their parents. It was a moment of shared pride and accomplishment as we acknowledged the achievements and hard work of them all.
Congratulations to all our prize winners on your well-deserved awards. Your dedication and commitment continue to reinforce the spirit of excellence at Queen's.
