We were delighted to host the Cambridge Occupational Analysts (COA) Regional STEM Conference at The Queen’s School.
Guest speakers included Professor John Counsell, Head of Electronics, Electrical Engineering and Robotics at the University of Chester, who spoke about his own varied career through rocket science to robots and the many career opportunities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
We also heard from the company ‘All About STEM’ who brought along volunteer ambassadors who spoke about their own careers and the industries they come from, and how they can support schools, including inviting sixth form girls to consider being STEM ambassadors themselves.
Head of Careers Julietta Dawson said: “At Queen’s we are very proud that over half of our pupils take a STEM subject as an A-level. The conference was a really interesting and useful day with the STEM ambassadors inspiring our students with insights into their own careers and industry sectors.”
