Watch a video of Grace and Isla talking about the opportunity
Three talented students from The Queen’s School in Chester will be performing as choristers at the highly anticipated royal wedding of the Duke of Westminster and Olivia Henson.
Grace, a Year 12 student at Queen’s, is the Head Chorister of the Chester Cathedral Choir. She has been a member since she was nine years old after the Director of Music and two choristers performed at the Lower School as part of their recruitment.
Grace said: “I got involved in the choir because of Queen’s and have never looked back. It is an absolute honour to now be the Head Chorister and I am really looking forward to the big day. It is a lot of pressure but it is such an incredible opportunity and I can’t wait!”
Grace will be singing alongside Isla and Cassie, both in Year 10, and they will all be showcasing their exceptional musical abilities at the prestigious event, due to be held at Chester Cathedral on Friday 7 June.
Isla said: “I’ve been a chorister at Chester Cathedral for five years now and I got involved thanks to my teachers who encouraged me to join. I love being able to perform in front of lots of different people and lots of different types of music. I am quite nervous about all the people who are going to be watching the wedding but I am also really looking forward to it. It gets the adrenaline running!”
Grace, Isla, and Cassie have been dedicated members of the Chester Cathedral Choir for many years and their hard work and passion for music have earned them this incredible opportunity.
Headmistress at The Queen’s School Joanne Keville said: "We are thrilled and immensely proud of Grace, Isla, and Cassie for taking part in such a significant event and look forward to celebrating their continued success.
"Their achievements are a shining example of what our students can accomplish when given the opportunity and support to pursue their passions. We look forward to hearing all about it when they return to school on the Monday after the wedding. What an amazing experience!”
