Staff at The Queen’s School are celebrating with the announcement that the school has been shortlisted for a prestigious schools’ award.
The school has made it onto the shortlist of the Independent School Parent Awards Girls’ School of the Year 2018.
Judges considered the enriching experience the school offered its pupils from age 4 to 18 in preparing them for their future lives when making their shortlist.
They will be judging Queen’s Lower and Senior Schools against Benenden in Kent, Cheltenham Ladies College, Roedean, Bolton Girls’ School, Queen’s Margaret’s in York, and Wimbledon and James Allen Schools in London as well as Alderley Edge nearby, with winners announced in December.
The Queen’s School Headmistress Mrs Sue Wallace-Woodroffe said: “It will be no surprise to our current parents, staff and pupils that the work the school does in developing girls to embrace the challenges of the 21st century has been recognised in this way.
“Queen’s has always prioritised developing individuals both academically and personally so that they truly know their worth in the world and have the self-belief to make a difference in a meaningful way once they leave us for university or a job. I could not be happier that the judges were able to see this too and I would like to thank all the staff who work with both commitment and creativity to make it happen every day.”
