Bishops' Bluecoat were victorious for the second year in a row in our annual Queen's Senior Debating Competition held on Friday.
Teams from Prenton High School, King's School, Bishops' Bluecoat, Holy Trinity and Queen's competed throughout the day, debating motions based around the topic of 'Society and the Individual'.
All the teams performed superbly but it was King's v Queen's and King's v Bishops' in the semi-final. Two hard fought debates then resulted in a Queen's v Bishops' final.
Debating the motion 'This house believes the individual is more important than the society to which they belong' all the participants presented well-researched and structured arguments for their respective sides but it was Bishops' who won over the judges.
International Human Rights Lawyer and UK Barrister and alumna Rebecca Wright was one of the judges and also delivered an inspirational talk to the teams about her role.
