During lockdown we launched an active challenge; Queen’s Kilometre Quest. The aim of this challenge was to get pupils, parents and staff out the house for their daily exercise by either walking, running, cycling, rowing, roller skating (however they prefer to move!) and logging the distance they cover.
We also ran this as a House competition where every 5k contributed to the academic House resulted in 25 House points being awarded.
A fantastic effort was made throughout the summer term to be active and get out and about, and to record distances covered. After collecting all of the data we are pleased to announce the results of the Queen’s Kilometre Quest.
A total distance of 10,777.53km has been covered. This is approximately the equivalent to the distance from The Queen’s Senior School to Santiago del Estero in Argentina.
The House Results are:
1st Place | Hastings/Dragons | 283 entries, and a total distance of 3,342.01km. Hastings/Dragons have been awarded 16,710 house points. |
2nd Place | Thompson/Griffins | 252 entries, and a total distance of 3,072.75km. Thompson/Griffins have been awarded 15,363 house points |
3rd Place | Sandford/Unicorns | 182 entries, and a total distance of 2,407.28km. Sandford/Unicorns have been awarded 12,036 house points |
