Reception enjoyed a fabulous trip to Chester Zoo where they were able to observe, at first hand, how animals are adapted to different climates and habitats.
They compared Penguins with Giraffes and saw how each was totally suited for their own habitats.
They saw examples of real penguin feathers and a penguin egg and were able to observe their movements on land and in the water. They also looked at an example of a giraffe neck bone and compared it to their own.
The girls were also lucky enough to be some of the first visitors to the new 'Big Cats' Lego exhibition which had just opened on the same day as their visit. They have now been inspired to build with our class lego sets!
