Year 9 pupils enjoyed a performance of 'Risking It All' in their PSHE lesson, delivered by 2engage. The 50 minute performance and discussion stages the actual stories of young people who were targeted and subsequently exploited.
The stories raise awareness around the potential dangers that can impact young people in several ways. From a contextual safeguarding perspective, audiences witness how behaviours and decisions made at home, school or elsewhere can affect a young person’s mental and physical health, education and their relationships with families and peers. Social network and substance misuse, inappropriate relationships, risk-taking behaviour, peer-pressure and harassment and the grooming process are all topics covered.
The Cheshire West and Chester Safeguarding Children Partnership and partners have fully sponsored a schools tour of ‘Risking It All’ for 2022/23. The Partnership support the welfare of young people across the region highlighting key issues around safeguarding. This programme is backed by evidence and has successfully supported the delivery of PSHE education across Cheshire West.
