A wonderful week of music and drama across the school began at the Senior School when we welcomed parents and families to 'A Midsummer Extravaganza'.
The audience were entertained with musical pieces by girls in Years 7-12 and were treated to an outdoor performance of extracts of Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' by girls in Years 7-9.
It was a delightful and magical evening.
Later that week the Lower school held 'A Little Summer Serenade' where talented musicians from Years 4 and 6 performed a variety of pieces on their instruments.
The audience were serenaded by the 'Queen’s Young Voices' choir, who sang two pieces from their Musical ‘The Wizard of Oz’.
The Queen’s Junior Orchestra performed two exciting pieces and we saw a debut performance from our guitar ensemble and string ensemble as well as many solo performances on violins, piano, voice and guitar.
The evening would not have been possible without our peripatetic music staff, who support and motivate our talented musicians at Queen’s.
