Netball
Last week our Year 4 netball team travelled to Manchester High School for Girls to take part in fixtures against them and Withington.
The girls were bursting with excitement and ready to showcase the skills that they have been developing in their training sessions.
The first match was against Withington. The girls started the game well, taking an early lead. As the match progressed lots of interceptions were made, allowing the team to get the ball quickly to goal. Withington challenged Queen's for every ball, however after one last push, Queen's managed to secure a 4-3 win, with Annabelle being awarded Opposition's Player of the Match for her super defensive work.
The second match was against Manchester High School for Girls. The team made a strong start to the game, taking a 3-0 lead in the first quarter. With great skill and ambition, the girls pushed to extend their lead further in the following quarter. The game allowed for lots of positional changes and chances for the girls to try new positions. The opposing team challenged the ball well and showed great determination. Queen's managed to secure a 7-1 win, with Jemima being awarded Opposition's Player of the Match for her superb shooting skills. Coach's Player of the Match was given to Eva for her determination and versatility in a range of different positions.
This was a fantastic fixture against two strong oppositions. Well done girls, for showcasing some fantastic netball and representing the school brilliantly!
