Netball
A busy week of netball began with a fantastic experience last Monday when Australian school Firbank Grammar joined us for a few games. The school was on a netball tour and even managed to squeeze in a quick Aussie rules football masterclass!

On Tuesday our U16 and U19 netball teams played in the Chester and District tournament. The U19s finished 5th and U16 finished 3rd.

Thursday was a mix of results against Upton with three wins and two losses for our Years 7, 9 and 9 teams.

Congratulations to Hana in Year 7 who has been selected for the Cheshire Academy netball squad for this season, a fantastic achievement.

Swimming
On Friday our U15 swimmers came first in the medley and second in the freestyle relays at the North West Secondary School team relay championships at Everton Park. We are now waiting to hear if they have qualified to the National Finals in London! Well done Izzy, Cara, Eleanor and Lucy.

Last weekend, several girls from Queen’s Lower School and Senior School represented ASKA Swimming Club at a gala in Holywell.  Some of the girls were taking part in their first competitive gala.  In addition to setting and breaking many personal bests, all of our girls won medals in their various races across a range of distances and strokes. Well done Cee Cee, Erin, Ellie, Olivia, Aster and Kate from the Lower School as well as Mari and Cara from the Senior School.

Hockey
Congratulations to our U14 hockey team who won the Cheshire County round of the National Schools tournament over the weekend with effective teamwork and good vision. The girls now progress to the North West round in November.

Lacrosse
It was a great day at the Senior North Schools Lacrosse tournament on Saturday. Four brilliant wins out of eight with a fantastic team performance throughout.

Gymnastics
A huge well done to Evelyn in Year 8 who is the North West Gymnastics FIG Espoir Champion after being crowned overall winner at the weekend despite being one of the youngest competitors.
Evelyn achieved 1st place in the Vault and Asymmetric Bars, 2nd place on the Floor and 3rd place for the Beam securing overall 1st place. Following her competition results Evelyn has also now been selected to represent the North West at the Bill McLoughlin National Apparatus Team Championships taking place in Surrey next month

Sailing
Emily in Year 10 has rounded off a busy summer sailing season of club racing and coaching by gaining the RYA Assistant Instructor Certificate at Llyn Brenig Sailing Club. Emily has been teaching beginners up to the National Sailing Scheme Level 2 since May and last weekend completed a 2 day assessment in order to gain her AI certificate. She is well on her way to the RYA Dinghy Instructor Certificate having already completed the Power Boat and First Aid components.
