Year 5 enjoyed a morning of STEM activities at the Senior School.
With their 'Wacky Hair' styles to raise money for charity, the girls entered the science department where they were challenged to build battery powered lunar rovers using Lego with the help of Year 10 ‘science ambassadors’.
They had to design, test and evaluate their vehicles on a ‘moon surface’ to see which group was able to produce the best lunar rover. Would they be able to carry the special cargo from one moon station to another? With recent announcements that NASA plans to organise new missions to the moon this was an opportune moment for pupils to get a glimpse of the design and engineering process that would be involved.
