Year three had a fabulous day at the Weaver Hall Museum immersing themselves in all things prehistoric!
During the morning workshop they handled genuine stone age tools, learnt about the uses of different shaped stones, investigated the properties of different types of stones and tried weaving techniques.
The afternoon session moved them into the bronze and iron ages where the girls discovered how the metals were extracted and how these new materials impacted the technological advances of the time.
After learning how moulds were used to create tools, they ended the day making clay pots using traditional techniques. The girls impressed everyone with their insightful questions, focus to tasks and strong teamwork throughout the day.
