Our Year 10 and 12 girls recently engaged in a series of activities designed to foster teamwork, problem-solving, and the cultivation of new friendships as they approach their pivotal exam years.
For Year 12, an unforgettable team-building weekend at the Conway Centre on Anglesey was the highlight. This adventure featured a range of physical challenges and activities that demanded both mental resilience and physical prowess. Not only did they rise to these challenges, but they also relished the opportunity to connect with the fresh faces who have joined Queen’s Sixth Form this September, as well as spending time making memories with old friends.
Furthermore, the students were treated to an inspiring and empowering session on 'Growth Mindset,' led by Head of Sixth Form, Robin Wilson. This provided the perfect launchpad for their A-level studies, instilling them with motivation and determination.
Year 10, as they gear up for their GCSE years, embarked on their own journey of team-building with the Royal Navy. This entailed a diverse array of activities tailored to showcase their unique strengths and foster new bonds of friendship.
The day started with indoor problem-solving challenges, outdoor fitness sessions, and leadership development exercises.
The culmination of their experience was an exhilarating rocket-building and launching competition. Each group was tasked with constructing and launching their own rockets, vying to see who could achieve the most impressive results. This engaging activity not only strengthened their camaraderie but also enhanced their problem-solving skills, setting a vibrant tone for the academic challenges ahead.
