Our Sweet Science event saw us welcome Year 5 and 6 girls from a wide range of primary schools to the Senior School for a morning of science-themed fun.
The fourth event in our Saturday Series programme involved a carousel of investigations and experiments for the girls to enjoy while making friends.
From making ice cream to discovering the chemical reaction between sherbet and acid in ‘Fizz and Foam’, discovering the dyes hiding in sweets in ‘Candy Chromatography’, and of course, exploding cola cannons, it was certainly a packed morning of discovery.
The Saturday Series is a two-year programme of events to make the transition from primary school to The Queen’s Senior School a smooth and exciting process for everyone involved. Girls enjoy making new friends as well as getting to know the staff and the school environment in a fun and relaxed format.
Our next event is ‘Desert Island Escape’ in February for girls in Years 5 and 6 which will see Music, DT, RS, and Art come together to deliver another outstanding event.
