Hockey
Two Year 7 teams recently travelled to King's to take part in their last hockey tournament of the season.
After winning all their seven games, scoring a tremendous 24 goals, with only two against, the A team were crowned winners. Well done Priya, Cerys, Emma, Hannah, Freya, Leah, Isabella, Lola and Limonée.
The B team played with great effort and determination against several school A teams and did really well, finishing fifth overall in the plate competition. Well done Scarlett, Bea, Aisha, Eve, Darcy, Helena and Isabella.
Athletics
Congratulations to Ava in Year 8 who competed for the Cheshire athletics team which was crowned UK champions at the UK Sportshall Athletics Championships at Sportscity Manchester. West Cheshire AC athlete Ava was selected for the Cheshire team which represented the North West of England having previously beaten the regional teams from Manchester, Liverpool and Lancashire. The Cheshire team then competed against the regional teams which had qualified from across the UK with Cheshire finally lifting the winner’s trophy at Sportscity.
Great news also for sister Lola in Year 7 who has been selected for the West Cheshire AC Youth Development League team, competing this summer in the top athletics league in the North of England - Northern Premier 1. Lola will represent the club in sprint hurdles, javelin and sprint relay. Lola celebrated her selection with medals recently in both of her favourite events - sprint hurdles and javelin - at the Trafford AC open athletics meeting.
Badminton
Aarthy in Year 8 has been selected once again to represent Wales in badminton in the under 13 and under 15s. She played for Wales in Scotland in February and she will playing for them again in May. Well done Aarthy!
Swimming
Congratulations to Eleanor in Year 8 on her recent success at the ‘SKINS’ elimination event and selection for the Junior Commonwealth Games pathway for swimming. An excellent achievement, well done!
