It has been wonderful to once again take our learning outside the classroom with our trips back up and running this term.
Liverpool provided a sunny day for our Year 2 trip to the Maritime Museum, where the girls enjoyed a story-telling session all about Polar the teddy bear and his exploits with his family aboard the Titanic. They also learnt many new facts whilst browsing the exhibition, and after lunch they enjoyed some sketching at the Tate.
Year 5 had an out of this world experience as they spent the day at the Xplore centre in Wrexham. They were challenged to build a ‘Mars rover’ which wouldn’t damage their precious cargo on landing, and learnt about the ExoMars mission planned for September. The girls demonstrated impressive practical problem solving when attempting to solve the centre’s exhibits.
Year 1 had a great day out at the Walker Art gallery and the World museum in Liverpool. They followed a ‘Pottery trail’ around the different gallery rooms, reading clues and searching for the answers. They talked about the changes in art and design through history, looking at portraits, landscapes and abstract art too. The children chose a painting that they would like to sketch and colour. They had lunch at the World museum and visited the dinosaurs on the way!
