Darcie went to the University of Exeter from 2017-2020 and graduated with a 2:1 in BA Classical Studies and English. During her time there she took part in all the extracurricular musical theatre societies and also opted to take a module of Korean.
In 2020-2021 she decided to do an MA from home in Korean Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies, focusing primarily on history while also studying Korean and Chinese language. She achieved a 2:1 and thoroughly enjoyed her time at SOAS!
Darcie then had a year of working, during which she decided to finally follow a passion she had always wanted to do. She began an MA in Musical Theatre at the Wales Academy of Voice and Dramatic Arts in Cardiff in September 2022, and graduated with a First. She has since then become part of the London division of ‘The Satin Dollz’ a vintage singing pin up group who perform all over the country and the world. A professional vintage jazz singer, she was very excited to book her first professional acting job!
Darcie took part in a lot of extracurricular drama activities while at The Queen’s School, and says she owes a lot to Mrs Larder and Mrs Band for being such a great support network to her during that time! She was the Drama captain and always took part in the school musicals.
Darcie followed each of her passions separately, but ultimately succeeded the best in the one she knew deep down was her vocation. She is passionate about sharing her experiences of Korean, Musical Theatre or any Performing Arts careers, and to hopefully inspire girls to know they can be both academic and part of the arts!
